The Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University is officially recognized as the leading Russian business school in international rankings and the annual Iztvestia ranking. Founded in 1993 as a faculty of management in the oldest university of Russia in the framework of a joint project with Haas Business School (California University, Berkley, USA), it is today the model of a modern successful business school on the Russian education market.
In 2006 the Government of the Russian Federation approved the resolution on creation of the Graduate School of Management on the basis of the faculty as an internationally-recognized Russian business school in the framework of the National Education Priority Project.
The school`s mission is to develop a national management elite able to meet the competitive challenges for Russia in the knowledge-based economy of the XXI century.
In the first step of its dynamic development, GSOM achieved the reputation of the leading Russian business school, created a unique network of academic and corporate partners and become the only representative of Russia in the global associations of the leading business schools – CEMS, PiM, GBSN, EABIS, GRLI and GMAC.
In 2012 GSOM became the first Russian business school to receive EQUIS accreditation and since 2013 has been the only representative of Russian business education included in the Financial Times rankings.
The school is currently working for strengthening its international competitiveness and to support the further growth of Russian business education.
At the moment it is one of the most international schools in Eastern Europe and continues to strengthen its position by attracting the best possible foreign students and teachers, conducting joint research and international projects, and maintaining the interest of the leading global companies in its alumni.
GSOM is also one of the institutions in Russia with the highest research potential, regularly hosting academic seminars and conferences with leading researchers. The GSOM case center is unique in Russia. The case center has developed more than 380 cases, 195 of which are registered in The Case Centre.
The GSOM Advisory Board is headed by Sergey Ivanov, Head of the President’s Administration, and includes ministers and former ministers of the Russian and foreign governments, leading international academics and the CEOs of top Russian and international banks and companies.
The GSOM career center works with more than 170 companies giving creating almost 500 internships for our students annually and increasing the opportunities for career building for both current and former students.
